Eligibility: Anyone seriously dedicated to the exploration of Daoist knowledge and health practices can apply for a workshop or conference grant.
Purpose: Awards in an appropriate amount will be made for any meeting organized. The project should produce a presentable result, which can be posted online on our or some other appropriate website, presented in journals, or published in a book.
Deadline: Applications can be made at any time. Evaluation and decision will take about two months.
Criteria: Applications will be evaluated by a committee of experienced scholars according to the following criteria:- importance of the text or project;
- relevance to the Foundation’s mission;
- expertise of the organizers and invited participants;
- project organization and feasibility;
- financial need;
- evidence of other resources (funding, etc) that will assist the project’s completion.
Note: Please note that Legacy of Dao only provides support for specific projects in the area of Daoist knowledge and health practices. The funds are primarily meant to cover organization costs related to hosting and/or planning a workshop or conference. We do not pay organizers’ salaries nor do we subsidize administrative expenses, the purchase of equipment, or non-essential entertainments.

- A file named YourNameConf.doc (e.g. SmithConf.doc) containing:
- a cover sheet with your name, institution, mailing address, phone, fax, e-mail address, and project title plus three names and e-mail addresses of people who can evaluate your work. No letters of support are required; we will contact your references;
- a description of the workshop or conference, including proposed date and place, its overall content, and relevance to the field;
- a list of invited participants and their paper topics;
- proposed budget.
- A file named YourNameCV.doc (e.g. SmithCV.doc) containing:
- a complete resume of your education, employment, grants received, and list of publications, workshops, and other notable activities.
